McDivot’s Tour

WHAT IS THE MCDIVOT'S TOUR?

The McDivot’s Tour (aka Tour) is continuing what was previously known as the Minnow Tour the past couple of years. They have decided to take a pause for 2026. We thank Jordan & Trevor for starting it up and hope to build on what they have started. We will preface that this is volunteer work, no one is getting paid or making a thing other than what they might earn from their individual participation in events. The Tour will not hold any one-off events of its own, other than the season ending Tour Championship, which is still being worked on.

Each event will be worth points (see below charts) to the top finishers of each event. To earn points, you must qualify for the championship 9 and play that 9. Points will be awarded based on the full event finish, not just the final 9 holes. You must also enter any of the events directly through the golf course

Past issues for the Tour were low participation & lack of buy in, thereby having a small prize pool. While this is not meant to be a for-profit entity, we are looking to promote competitive golf, support small town golf courses and the chance to earn a little somethin’ somethin’ on the side. And let’s be honest, get away from some of the “net” BS and as Yip says, those sand bagging rats.

To help with this, we are working on sponsors as well as establishing a membership requirement. To be eligible to earn points, you must “join” the Tour. Oh great, what is this going to cost? To join the Tour, the entry will be $25. All the entry money is going to the prize fund pool. This will help establish the monies for the season ending event. In the past the top 12 qualified, this is TBD, but likely could be more than 12 if we have enough members.

You must join the Tour before playing in an event(s), except the first weekend (June 6/7). So no, you can’t go “see how I play”, then say you want to join. If you join later after playing an event, your points in a previously played event will not be credited if you earned any. There will be 10-12 events for qualification. So, you don’t have to play all of them, maybe one will be enough. For those that know you can only play a few, we are going to designate two events as multiplier events. Meaning if you make the championship 9 & earn points, those points will be worth 2 times points.

The Tour Championship site and format is still being worked out. This was all finalized in the last 3 days, and we are still working to confirm with a few courses to allow us to use their current event as a Tour event qualifier. Below is the proposed Tour event schedule.
